Botulinum Toxin

Botulinum Toxin applications have become quite common, and can be used to prevent or attenuate skin wrinkles and creases.

There are variations of this toxin, however, for aesthetic treatments, type A is used – more stable and safer. Natural aging and excessive sun exposure, among other factors, can cause the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles. However, repeated muscle contractions over time can also affect the skin overlying the muscles of the face.

Botulinum toxin has the function of inhibiting muscle contraction by blocking nerve signals, weakening the muscle and causing temporary paralysis. Therefore, when used in aesthetic treatment, it results in a smoother expression, with mild wrinkles.

Who is it recommended for?

Individuals who are candidates for the application of Botulinum Toxin must understand that the procedure is not a treatment for all types of skin problems. Some factors must be previously analyzed by the professional, namely:

  • skin thickness

  • Wrinkle Type

  • Wrinkle severity.
